Welcome to
our Summer 2006 Newsletter.
Thanks to all who provided feedback on our first
newsletter. We’ve made several changes to the format so
you can quickly navigate to the areas of interest using
the ‘Rapid Attack’ links. Here you’ll find all the

New
Batch Question Function
The SurveyShack tool now features a handy batch
function which allows you to select mandatory responses
to all questions – all at once. Mandatory responses are
a commonly used function during the creation of surveys
so this new feature saves a lot of time having to go
through and edit each question to activate this –
especially if a template or copied questionnaire is used
as a starting point. Batch selecting still allows for
selective editing of the mandatory responses feature
where required of course. Look out for more batch
functions coming soon!

Character
Limits Removed
Foreign languages (e.g. Arabic, Russian
etc) tend to use long Unicode character representations.
Now our character limits are unrestricted so that your
foreign language questionnaires are more easily
accommodated.
New
Folder Hierarchy Management
Originally all folders were listed at
one level. Folders can now be "moved" into an existing
folder. The moved folder then becomes a "sub folder" of
the one it has been moved into.
Completed-only
Surveys Count
Under survey settings (close survey
after ‘N’ responses) – a new check box when set to "Only
count fully completed surveys" ensures that only
completed surveys are used to determine when to
close.
Admin
Account Edit of Live Surveys
If you have an admin login for the
SurveyShack account on which you are logged in as an
ordinary user, you will be able to edit questions with
answers. This can be particularly useful at for
correcting spelling mistakes noticed after the survey
has gone live & has already received results (use
with care!).

Don’t
Forget to Update Filters
When reviewing the results of your surveys and
applying filters to validate responses, don’t forget to
tick the ‘Include’ checkboxes for all respondents you
want to include, and then click on the ‘Update Filters’
button before creating your report. Otherwise the last
filter setting will apply to your results and you may
not have the full story in your report.
